Dora Ragusa is an Italian painter based in Berlin since 2010. She mainly paints realistic portraits using oil on canvas. The Ex Voto project is a series of painted skateboard decks with images inspired by religious themes, combining the sacred with the profane. These are contemporary art objects inspired by the ancient folk tradition of Ex Voto (an offering to a deity in fulfilment of a vow) painted on a profane object rooted in popular youth culture – a skateboard deck. We are honoured to curate Dora Ragusa and present two exciting artworks. We love the balancing act between religious motifs and skateboarding culture, perfectly staged and in highly professional artistic execution.
